Suffolk Tops Women's Hoops, 73-56

Box Score BOSTON, Mass. (Dec. 4) -- Sophomore Jacqueline Vienneau scored 20 points, along with 10 rebounds and five assists to lead the Suffolk University Women's Basketball team (3-4) to a 73-56 victory over Nichols College (2-5) on Saturday afternoon at the Regan Gymnasium.

Vienneau scored 12 of her points in the second half as the Rams exploded for 42 points over the final minutes of play following a slow first half.

Sophomore Lindsey Rogers finished the game with 16 points for Suffolk, while junior Meghan Black put in 12 points for the Rams.

Senior Jessica Nelson (North Providence, R.I.) led the Bison scoring 16 points and was the team's leading rebounder with seven, while senior guard Ashley Robidoux (Milford, Mass.) scored 15 points.

The Rams broke the game open midway through the second period going on an 18-5 run that saw them extend their lead by 19 points with seven and a half minutes remaining as Vienneau connected on a jumper. The Rams shot 48 percent from the field as a team in the second half.

Freshman Jennifer Ruys scored 10 points along with seven board for the Rams, while junior Mary Garon had seven rebounds. Suffolk held the edge on the glass with a 45-35 margin.

Nichols College returns home Tuesday to host Rivier College at 5:30 p.m. The Rams will travel to Regis College on Tuesday evening for a 6:00 p.m. game.
