DUDLEY, Mass. (Sept. 18) – First year golfer Joe Gallagher (Hopewell Jct., N.Y.) won his first individual medalist honors as he led the Nichols College men's golf team to a B Match victory over Anna Maria, Mitchell and Elms Friday afternoon at Dudley Hill Golf Course. Gallagher shot an even-par 72, including an event low-tying 35 on the back nine.
Nichols was the team leader at 304, followed by Anna Maria which totaled 339. Mitchell combined for a 354 and Elms finished with a 362.
Jon-Paul Chouinard (Natick, Mass.) placed second with a 73, while Elms' Andrew Sullivan followed with a 76.
Nathan McNamara was the top finisher for Anna Maria with an 83, while Michael Baker led Mitchell with an 81.
Samuel Scott (Aquinnah, Mass.) posted a 79 for the Bison, and Bruce Carter, Jr. (Worcester, Mass.) finished one stroke behind with an 80. Brent Riehl (Cheshire, Conn.) rounded out the squad with an 85.
Nichols is back in action on Tuesday when the Bison host Wentworth, Becker and Rhode Island College for another B Match at noon.
