DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College women's basketball team won its program-record 14th consecutive game Tuesday evening in a 64-48 non-conference victory over visiting Union College. The Bison improve to 15-2 overall while the Dutchwomen dip to 10-5. Nichols eclipsed the previous mark set in the 2005-06 season.

Sophomore guard Ashley Robidoux (Milford, Mass.) paced the Bison with 20 points while senior point guard MaryLynn Skarzenski (Woodbridge, N.J.) filled the stat sheet with 16 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds to go with three steals and a pair of blocks. Sophomore forward Jessica Nelson (No. Providence, R.I.) picked up a team-high 11 rebounds.

Senior guards Rachel Scott and Selin Whitham led the Dutchwomen with 12 points and four rebounds each, while sophomore forward Lauren McCormick recorded 11 rebounds.

Union held a 14-5 lead within the first five minutes of the game and edged ahead, 17-11 at the 11:04 mark on a Whitham jumper, but Nichols went on a 19-0 run over the next 9:31, taking a 28-17 lead on a Skarzenski jumper.

A pair of free throws from Scott made the score 28-19 in favor of the Bison, but two three-pointers from Lyndsey Bennett (No. Brookfield, Mass.), including one at the buzzer, gave Nichols a 34-21 lead headed into the locker room.

The Bison twice led by as many as 16 in the second half, with the Dutchwomen cutting the deficit to 11 with 4:55 left on a Maria Tobin three-pointer. Tobin finished with eight points, six rebounds and five steals.

Nichols held a 44-40 advantage off the glass and shot 40.6% (26-64) from the field while holding the Dutchwomen to 29.1% (16-55) shooting.  Nichols converted 16 Union turnovers into 18 points, while the Dutchwomen collected nine points off of the Bison's 13 turnovers.

The Bison put their 5-0 TCCC record on the line Thursday in a 7:30 p.m. game at Western New England College, while Union hosts Vassar in a 6 p.m. Liberty League game Friday.
