FARMINGTON, Conn. – Trinity College shot a combined 582 (293 day one, 289 day two) to win the 2008 ECAC Division III Men's New England Golf Championships at Tunxis Plantation Golf Course on October 4-5. Nichols College finished the two-day championship with a combined score of 592 to second place. Trinity's Jay Driscoll earned individual gold with a 140 (72, 68) while junior Pat Pio (Somers, Conn.) of Nichols College earned silver with a 141 (73, 68).
Senior Chris Healy (Charlton, Mass.) finished tied for 11th place with a two-day score of 150 (79, 71), while senior Cole Ruwe (Pekin, Ill.) tied for 14th place one stroke behind with a 151 (74, 77). Junior Shawn Santos (Agawam, Mass.) tied for 19th place with a two-day total of 152 (74, 78), and senior Chris Brock (Pomfret Center, Conn.) tied for 24th place with a 155 (79, 76).
After Monday's match at Anna Maria, Nichols returns to host the Bison Invitational Wednesday at Blissful Meadows Country Club.
