DUDLEY, Mass. – The varsity Rocket League team consisting of Kfrost, pyyros, and Peloza, as part of the Nichols Esports program, cruised to two NACE Last Chance Qualifier wins in the Flynn's Arcade Esports and Gaming Center on Monday night to help propel itself into the NACE playoff picture.
The Bison began their evening of play with a sweep of Oklahoma City in the first match, 4-0. In a matchup against RIT later in the night, Nichols came away with a 4-1 decision over the Tigers to schedule a rematch from the fall with Northeastern slated for Saturday afternoon. The Huskies have since withdrawn from competition to give Nichols a perfect 3-0 record in the LCQ to send the team to the playoffs.
Kfrost (
Samuel Calini) let the way with 11 saves, and 11 goals on 34 shots, adding five assists. Pyyros (
Andrew Oricchio) went on to add 10 saves of his own with nine goals and six assists. Peloza (
Mike Peloza) rounded out the efforts with eight saves and eight assists while pushing in five goals.
Nichols will have to wait until April 17 to partake in its next action in the Round of 16.
