Bison earn 10th win of 2019

The Nichols College women's volleyball team scored a 3-0 win over Castleton University in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at The William A. O'Neill Athletic & Convocation Center in Danbury, Conn. The Bison won game one 25-17, and games two and three by identical 25-8 scores.
 
Freshman Chardae Saunders led all student-athletes with eight kills while senior Megan Gardner and sophomore Regan Richard each collected five kills. Freshman Allyson Tuxbury racked up 15 digs and four service aces while sophomore Rachael Veilleux handed out 17 assists and Saunders added a pair of blocks.
 
Three things you need to know...
            -Today's contest marked the inaugural meeting and the first of two this season between Nichols College and Castleton University. The Bison now lead the series, 1-0.
            -Tuxbury's 15 digs matched her career-high of 15, set earlier this week against Western New England.
            -Nichols closed the tri-match with a 3-0 loss to Western Connecticut State (25-17, 25-19, 25-17). Gardner paced the Bison with six kills, Veilleux has 15 assists, Tuxbury picked up eight digs, and Saunders notched four blocks.
