Emalee Watkins (Malden, Mass.) picked up four hits in Nichols College's non-conference doubleheader at Fitchburg State Thursday afternoon at Coolidge Park. The Falcons won game one, 3-0, and game two, 7-0.
Freshman
Christina Drake (Lebanon, N.H.) recorded two hits as the Bison (12-20) will open the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) playoffs as the No. 7 seed with a play-in game at No. 6 seed Roger Williams on Saturday, April 26 at 5:30 p.m.
Three different student-athletes recorded an RBI in the opener for the Falcons (13-15) while freshman Terri Ferrazzani (North Reading, Mass.) tossed seven shutout innings in the circle. She scattered six hits and struck out seven.
Freshman Courtney Borysewicz (Quaker Hill, Conn.) went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in the nightcap. Fitchburg State scored two in the first, three in the third and fourth in the sixth. Senior Kerri Alcott (Groton, Mass.) held Nichols to three hits fanned 15 Bison to even her record at 6-6.

Meghan Sears (Tewksbury, Mass.) combined to allow 21 hits and 10 runs (eight earned) with four walks and five strikeouts in 12 innings.
