FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Nichols College softball team closed competition at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic with a 4-2 loss to Wisconsin-Platteville Wednesday afternoon at the Lee County Sports Complex.
Junior
Avery Orszulak (Springfield, Mass.) and sophomore
Jordan D'Aurio (Northford, Conn.) each drove in a run for the Bison, who head home with a 3-7 record, but with three of the losses coming by only two runs. The Pioneers moved to 6-4 with the win.

Haley Fountain (Warren, Mass.). In the bottom half of the frame, D'Aurio singled to right to plate senior
Emalee Watkins (Malden, Mass.). Orszulak followed with a single to second that plated junior
Rahcel Dalrymple (Belvidere, Mass.).
Fountain allowed nine hits and four runs in seven innings of work. She did not walk a batter and recorded one strikeout.
Nichols is slated to return to action on Tuesday, March 25 with a 3 p.m. doubleheader against Eastern Nazarene.
