CAPE CORAL Fla. – Junior Jordan D'Aurio (Northford, Conn.) drove in her sixth run of the season in Nichols College's 5-1 loss to SUNY Brockport in non-conference softball action Sunday afternoon at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic at the Cape Coral Sports Complex.

Freshman Christina Drake (Lebanon, N.H.) had two of the Bison's four hits on the afternoon. The loss leaves Nichols with a 2-4 record heading into Monday's off-day. Junior Patricia Stacy (Pembroke, Mass.) recorded the other Bison hit.

The Golden Eagles pushed across one in the second and three more in the fourth to grab a 4-0 lead. D'Aurio's single brought home Drake to make it 4-1 before the visitors tacked on one more in the sixth.

Sophomore Haley Fountain (Warren, Mass.) allowed 12 hits and five runs (three earned) in six innings of work. She did not walk a batter and struck out a pair.

Nichols returns to action on Tuesday when it plays Knox at 9 a.m. and Wooster at 11 a.m.
