Nichols – which led wire-to-wire – built a 22-6 lead just 10 minutes into the contest behind six points from Bennett and five from Horton. Endicott briefly cut the deficit to nine after Magee canned a triple, but a putback dunk by junior

Sheehan led all scorers through the first 20 minutes with nine points while Magee paced the Gulls with five points. Defensively, the Bison defense held the Gulls to 28 percent shooting (9-of-32) while committing just two turnovers on the offensive end.
Nichols opened up a 21-point advantage following a layup by Sheehan 4:31 into the second half before a pair of free throws from Eggleston gave the Bison their largest lead of the evening at 56-32. Endicott chipped away at its deficit and climbed to within 12 after a layup by freshman Kamahl Walker (Worcester, Mass.) with 1:53 remaining before time ran out.
The Gulls held a 48-32 edge on the glass – including 20-6 advantage on the offensive side – and recorded 16 second-chance points. Nichols, meanwhile, finished the contest with just nine turnovers while posting eight blocks – five of which came from junior
Joe Gallant (Salem, N.H.). The Bison rattled home 24 of their 29 free throws as well (83 percent).
