DUDLEY, Mass. - The Nichols College softball team lost a pair of games to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) foe Endicott College on Wednesday afternoon at the Nichols Softball Complex. The Bison lost game one, 9-0, and game two, 12-0; both games were completed in six innings.
Junior
Emalee Watkins (Malden, Mass.) recorded three of the Bison's five hits on the afternoon – including two in game two. The losses drop Nichols to 5-23 (3-11 CCC) on the season.
Junior Jesse Bilafer (Concord, Mass.) went 2-for-4 with three RBI for the Gulls (13-15, 12-0 CCC) in game one while both senior Jocelyn Russo (Middletown, Conn.) and junior Danielle LaRocque (Averill Park, N.Y.) each plated two runs. In the nightcap, Russo went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored while classmate Byrne Katz (Trumbull, Conn.) recorded two RBI.
Endicott grabbed an early 2-0 lead in game one on RBI hits from Bilafer and Katz. After adding one in the fourth, the Gulls put up a '4' spot in the fifth to extend their lead to 7-0, highlighted by two-run singles from Russo and Bilafer. An RBI double off the bat of LaRocque in the sixth closed the scoring.
Junior Nell O'Connor (Harwich, Mass.) struck out six in four innings of work to improve to 7-2 for the Gulls. Sophomore

The Gulls blew game two open with 10 runs in the sixth inning to move in front 12-0. In six innings, Sprague gave up just two hits and struck out nine. Freshman
Danielle White (Boston, Mass.) fell to 2-5 with the loss as the Gulls tagged her for 12 hits and 12 runs (10 earned). She walked six and fanned one.
The Bison return to action on Saturday with a noon doubleheader at Eastern Nazarene. Endicott hosts Western New England Thursday at 3 p.m.
