Box Score

DUDLEY, Mass. (March 25) – Endicott College senior second baseman Sarah Spaziano plated six runners on a 3-for-4 day that included a double and a home run to lead the Gulls to a 13-3, five-inning victory over Nichols College in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference game Thursday afternoon. The game was the second of a doubleheader scheduled for Wednesday that was called due to darkness after the Bison won the opener, 12-11 in 11 innings. Endicott improves to 6-6 overall and 1-1 in conference games, while Nichols dips to 3-9 and 1-1 in league play.

Freshman designated player Colleen Martin also went the distance with a three-run homer in the second inning, helping the Gulls jump out to an early 6-0 lead.

Nichols was paced by junior left fielder Ashley Robidoux (Milford, Mass.), who hit the Bison's first home run of the season, a two-run shot in the third, when Nichols scored its three runs.

The Gulls added a run in the third on an RBI groundout by Byrne Katz, but Nichols answered back in the bottom of the frame on Robidoux's home run and an RBI single from Loren Rozanski (Plainville, Conn.).

Endicott plated four more in the fourth on five hits, including a two-run double from Spaziano, and capped the scoring in the fifth with two more runs courtesy of a Spaziano single.

Kayla Carignan earned the win allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out five. Molly Ferraro (Millis, Mass.) took the loss with seven runs on six hits and two strikeouts in 2.1 innings. Kara Buckley (Nashua, N.H.) took over in relief, allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits.

Nichols returns to action at New England College on Saturday in a noon TCCC doubleheader. Endicott travels to University of New England on Sunday for a noon TCCC twinbill.
