Box Score 2 KISSIMEE, Fla. – The Nichols College softball team split a pair of games Thursday at the Rebel Spring Games in Florida, defeating Hope College, 4-2, before falling to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, 5-0, in the afternoon. First-year pitcher Molly Ferraro (Millis, Mass.) threw her first career complete game win against the Flying Dutch, allowing two runs (one earned) while striking out three in the win.
Against the Flying Dutch, Savannah Thibault (Marlboro, Mass.) finished 1-for-3 with a double and three RBI, while Lauren Correia (Seekonk, Mass.) was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Lindsay Hassett (Oxford, Mass.) went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
In the second game, Christina Hebert (Johnston, R.I.) went 1-for-3 with a double, while Thibault was 1-for-1 with a walk. On the mound, Hassett allowed five runs (three earned) while striking out six through six innings before giving way to Kara Buckley (Nashua, N.H.).
The Bison conclude their Florida swing with a pair of games on Friday, taking on Trinity (Conn.) at 3 p.m. and Carthage at 5 p.m. Nichols is scheduled to open The Commonwealth Coast Conference play at home on Wednesday, March 25th with a doubleheader against Gordon at 3 p.m.
