Box Score 2 KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Nichols College softball team fell in a pair of games on its third day at the Spring Rebel Games. The Bison lost to Rowan, 10-0, in the morning and then dropped an 8-3 decision to Spring Arbor in the afternoon. Nichols has an off day on Wednesday before resuming action Thursday with a pair of games against Hope College and Wisconsin-River Falls.
Rowan held the Bison to just one hit in this morning's opener, collected by first-year infielder Savannah Thibault (Marlboro, Mass.), who finished 1-for-2 at the plate. Lindsay Hassett (Oxford, Mass.) shouldered the loss, allowing eight earned runs on nine hits while striking out two in four innings of work.
In the second game, first-year infielder Kylie Langton (Medford, Mass.) went 1-for-3 with a double and sophomore Alena Murdock (Pittsfield, Mass.) was also 1-for-3 with an RBI, but Spring Arbor built up seven runs on 10 hits by the fifth inning. Ashley Wyland (Schenectady, N.Y.) took the loss before giving way to Kara Buckley (Nashua, N.H.) in the fifth inning.
Nichols takes on Hope College Thursday at 9 a.m. and then faces Wisconsin-River Falls at 11 a.m. The Bison then play two afternoon games on Friday before returning to Dudley, Mass.
