WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State received goals from Meg Gearin and Kate MacLellan in a 2-0 women's soccer victory over Nichols College on Thursday evening at Alumni Field. Senior goalkeeper Sarah Levesque (Ludlow, Mass.) made nine saves for the Bison.

The Owls moved to 2-3 after snapping a three-game losing skid. Nichols is 1-1.

Geari scored in the 24th minute after receiving a cross pass from Ali Pease. MacLellan scored inside the box six minutes into the second half after receiving a pass from Alicia Chandler.

The Owls outshot the Bison, 14-2.

Nichols is back in action at Gordon College in a conference match Saturday at noon.
