Jack Raymond and a single from
Anthony Hackert, the Bison capitalized on an RBI groundout by
Tyler Ladouceur and a Saint Joseph error to jump ahead 2-0 early. The offense continued to roll in the second, plating three more runs to extend the lead to 5–0. A sacrifice fly from Raymond, an RBI single by
Ryan Keating, and a bases-loaded walk drawn by
Adam Pivacek highlighted the inning, with Nichols taking advantage of defensive miscues by the Blue Jays.
Nichols broke the game open in the third inning with another three-run frame. Keating delivered again with a two-RBI single, which put him at 100 hits in his career. Aggressive baserunning and a throwing error allowed another run to cross the plate, pushing the advantage to 8-0. The Bison added two more runs in the seventh inning to seal the victory, highlighted by an RBI single from Hackert and an RBI groundout from
Ben White.
Offensively, Hackert led the charge with a perfect 3-for-3 performance, scoring three runs and driving in one while adding two stolen bases. Keating also starred, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs, while Raymond reached base three times and scored three runs.
On the mound,
