Bison Fall in Extras at Keene State, 6-5

KEENE, N.H. (April 22, 2026) – The Nichols College baseball team dropped a 6-5 extra inning decision to Keene State College on Wednesday afternoon at the Owl Athletic Complex. In a game that traded leads, the Owls found the final answer on a walk-off sacrifice fly to win in extra innings.

Nichols falls to 15-16 (6-7 CNE) on the season, while Keene State improves to 19-12.

The Owls struck early with a three-run first inning, taking advantage of a pair of Nichols errors to build a quick 3-0 lead. The Bison responded in the second when Bryce Morrisette delivered an RBI single to plate Tyler Ladouceur and get Nichols on the board.

Nichols evened the score in the third inning behind run-scoring efforts from Andrew Rocca and Julian Galvan. Rocca lined an RBI single to center before Galvan followed with a groundout that brought home Rocca, tying the game at 3-3.

After several scoreless frames, Nichols surged ahead in the sixth inning. Michael Ucci lifted a sacrifice fly to score Galvan, and Collin Harty followed with an RBI single to give the Bison a 5-3 advantage. Keene State answered in the bottom half of the inning, as Trevor Snow ripped a two-run single to right field to tie the game once again at 5-5.

The game remained deadlocked through the ninth inning, forcing extras. Nichols had a chance in the 10th after advancing the placed runner to third, but the Bison were unable to push across the go-ahead run.

In the bottom of the 10th, the Owls capitalized on a sacrifice fly by Evan McCue to score the winning run and secure the 6-5 victory.
