DUDLEY, Mass. (4/16/2026) - The Nichols College men's tennis team hosted the Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT) on Thursday for a Conference of New England (CNE) match up on the Robinson Tennis Courts. In top form, the Bison earned a sweeping victory over the Leopards, tallying another conference win in their final stretch of games before postseason play.
The Bison improve to a 10-6-1 record, boosting to a double-digit win mark this season overall. They continue to climb in conference play, 9-1. WIT drops to a 4-7
record, 4-4 in the CNE.
Nichols set the tone early by claiming all three doubles matches in convincing fashion. The top pairing of William Albrikes and Rodolfo Hernandez secured a 6-3 win at No. 1, while Felipe Gonzalez and Ezra Raphael blanked their opponents 6-0 in the No. 2 spot. Mason Harris and Joshua Zenczak rounded out the sweep with a 6-2 victory at No. 3 to give the Bison a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
The momentum carried seamlessly into singles, where Nichols controlled every court. Albrikes led the charge at No. 1 with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 win, and Gonzalez followed with a 6-3, 6-2 victory in the No. 2 slot. Alexander Snitko battled through a competitive match at No. 3 before earning the point via opponent retirement after taking the opening set.
Elsewhere, Raphael cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 4, Andrew Emmel delivered a shutout 6-0, 6-0 performance at No. 5, and William Bergendahl capped the sweep with a 6-0, 6-2 win in the sixth position.
Men's tennis will end their regular season this Saturday, April 18th against the University of New England at home. Match start is set for 1:00 PM.
