NEW LONDON, Conn. (3/29/2026) - The Nichols College men's tennis team traveled to Connecticut College Sunday morning for non-conference play at the Luce Field House. The Bison ultimately came up short against the Camels, receiving a loss at the hands of a 7-0 blank.
Following the loss, Nichols' record falls to 3-5-1 overall, conference record unaffected. Connecticut College improves their record to 3-9.
The Bison dropped all three doubles matches to fall behind early, as Connecticut College secured the opening point. The pairing of William Albrikes and Rodolfo Hernandez fell 6-3 at No. 1 doubles, while Mason Harris and Jodha Singh were edged 6-4 in the No. 2 spot. Ezra Raphael and Felipe Gonzalez rounded out doubles play with a 6-3 setback at No. 3.
In singles competition, Nichols was unable to recover as the Camels took all six matches in straight sets or tightly contested finishes. Albrikes battled in the No. 1 position, pushing the opening set to a tiebreak before falling 7-6, 6-1. Singh competed at No. 2 singles, dropping a 6-1, 604 decision, while Hernandez fell 6-1, 6-1 in the third spot.
The most competitive match of the day came at No. 4 singles, where Gonzalez forced a third set after splitting the first two. He ultimately came up short in a 7-6, 4-6, 6-0 result. Alexander Snitko at No. 5 and Raphael at No. 6 completed the lineup, each falling in straight sets.
Men's tennis will look to bounce back tomorrow, returning to conference play against Colby-Sawyer College at home. The Bison will begin competition at 3:30PM at the Robinson Tennis Courts.
