Women’s Lacrosse Overpowers Curry for Fourth Straight Win, 14-7

DUDLEY, Mass. (3/25/2026) - The Nichols College women's lacrosse team hosted the Curry College Colonels on Wednesday at Vendetti Field. The Bison continue to ride off of their winning momentum, defeating the colonels 14-7 and extending their win streak to four.

Following the win, the Bison improve their record to 5-1, with their Conference of New England (CNE) record still untouched and undefeated at 3-0. Curry drops to 3-6, their CNE record falling to 0-3.

Nichols boasted a packed scoring effort today, seeing three hat trick performances off of the backs of Kaylyn Bourque, Emma Patton, and Cali Melo. Bourque's three goals marked her fourth straight game with three or more goals scored in a row. Following closely was Gabriella Mandirola with her two goal effort, with Makala Dube, Macy Abrams, and Catherine Vetter scoring a goal-a-piece as well. Dube ended the day as the points leader for the Bison, with four assists counting towards her five point game.

Despite losing the face off battle 7-16, the Bison were able to outpace the Colonels, out shooting Curry on goal 20-12. Slattery recorded five saves in the contest.

Nichols struck first in the opening quarter with a score from Vetter, assisted by Dube at the 13:20 mark. Curry retaliated shortly after at 12:16 with a goal of their own, but had their momentum stunted by a barrage of Bison scoring. Nichols' five unanswered goal response put them ahead 6-1 to end the first quarter of play.

The Bison continued to cushion their growing lead into the second quarter, adding on another four goals with no response. Both teams left the field for half, with Nichols up by a significant mark of 10-1.

A pair of scores from the Colonels late into the third quarter started to shift the momentum for Curry, but the Bison answered with a pair of their own. Patton answered almost immediately with her goal at 4:44, assisted by Dube. Macy Abrams added to their scoring, knocking down a goal at 2:08 to add to their lead 12-3, assisted by Melo.

Despite a four goal run from Curry in the fourth, Nichols continued to trade blows and pad their scoring. Ultimately, the Bison were able to best the Colonels 14-7, securing a conference win.

The Nichols College women's lacrosse team will travel to Roger Williams University's Bayside Field on Tuesday, March 31st to continue their campaign. Start time is set for 4:00 PM.
