DUDLEY, Mass. (3/17/2026) - The Nichols College men's tennis team opened up conference play on Tuesday at the Robinson Tennis Courts against Gordon College. The Bison were able to confidently handle business at home, producing a dominant 6-1 win over the Fighting Scots. 

Following the contest, Nichols now improves to a 2-3-1 record for the season, with a 1-0 slate in the Conference of New England (CNE). Gordon drops with their loss to 2-6, and now sits at 0-1 in CNE Play.

Gordon struck first in doubles play, claiming the No. 1 court over William Albrikes and Ezra Raphael, 6-1. Nichols responded quickly in the final two pairings, however, as Rodolfo Hernandez and Alexander Snitko earned a 6-3 win at No. 2, before Felipe Gonzalez and Mason Harris matched that score with a 6-3 victory at No. 3 to give the Bison the opening point.

Entering singles play a point up at 1-0, Nichols controlled the afternoon by taking five of the six matches. At the top spot, Albrikes turned in a convincing performance with a 6-3, 6-1 win. At No. 3, Gonzalez battled through the lone three-set match of the day, defeating his opponent by scores of 6-2, 3-6, 10-3. Raphael followed with a tight straight-set win at No. 4, with Snitko delivering one of the most decisive performances of the day at No. 5, rolling past his competition, 6-0, 6-1, while Andrew Emmel closed out the singles slate with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 6.

Nichols' singles play proved to be a determining factor in their win, as the Bison bounced back from the early doubles loss at No. 1 by capturing the doubles point and then carrying that momentum into singles. 

Nichols College men's tennis will play next against Roger Williams University on Saturday, March 21st at the RWU Tennis Courts. Start time is set for 12:00 PM.
