Women's Tennis Defeats University of Saint Joseph (CT), 6–1

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (9/30/25) - The Nichols College women's tennis team picked up a commanding victory over conference opponent University of Saint Joseph on Tuesday afternoon. The Bison handled their fourth conference match of the year against the Blue Jays 6-1 marking their seventh win of the season.

Following the win on the road, Nichols is 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the Conference of New England. Saint Joseph falls to 3-6, and 1-3 in conference play.

For doubles competition, Kamora Helton and Pamela Gonzalez Vallardi swept the top court, 6-0. Cora Brosch and Charis Vogler paired up for court No. 2 picked up a convincing win of 6-2. With the third court being a win-by-default for the Blue Jays, the wins for the first two doubles courts were enough to give the Bison their doubles point setting the tone for the rest of the matches at 1-0.

From there, the Bison controlled the match. Helton fought hard to open up singles play producing a 6–1, 6–1 win at No. 1 singles. Gonzalez Vallardi followed with a dominant 6–0, 6–0 performance at the No. 2 court. Vogler rolled to a 6–1, 6–0 victory at the No. 3 position, while Brosch secured another straight-set win at court No. 4, 6–3, 6–0. Erin Helly solidified our dominance for singles competition in the match with her winning 3-6, 6-4, 10-6 at the No. 5 court. The one point for singles earned for the Blue Jays comes from a win-by-default on the No. 6 court.

Women's tennis plays their next match against associate conference member Colby-Sawyer College on the Robinson Tennis Courts this Saturday, October 4th.
