DUDLEY, Mass. (10/4/2025) - The Nichols College women's tennis team hosted Colby-Sawyer College for each team's respective fifth conference match of the season. In said match, the Bison fought hard but were ultimately dealt a 5-2 first loss of the season.
Following today's competition, the Bison are 7-1 overall and 4-1 in conference play, with the Chargers moving to 4-1 for their season and conference record.
Doubles play was competitive and saw pairings of
Kamora Helton and
Pamela Gonzalez Vallardi,
Charis Vogler and
Cora Brosch, and the final duo of
Erin Helly and
Catherine Pollock who is highlighted with her 2025-26 season debut. Vogler and Brosch were able to capture the win on the No. 2 court with a score of 6-2, but a loss on each of the other doubles courts resulted in a point for the Chargers to take into singles competition.
Singles action saw tough battles featuring a match from Brosch who battled her opponent to three sets in a close loss with scores of 6-4, 2-6, and 8-10 and a win for Helton on court No. 1 beating out her competition 6-0, 6-2. Vogler was able to capture our second point of the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win on the No. 3 court.
The Bison look to bounce back on Wednesday, October 8th's SAAC Athlete 4 Athlete match against fellow conference program University of Hartford at the Robinson Tennis Courts. The set game time is 3:30 PM.
