DUDLEY, Mass. (9/29/25) - Nichols College women's tennis delivered their most dominant performance of the season over Curry College, sweeping in both doubles and singles play for a decisive victory. The Bison hosted the Colonels in their third conference match of the season, earning their sixth straight win of the season.
Following today's match, Nichols' record stands at 6-0 and 3-0 for conference play. Curry falls to 0-3 on the season after falling to the Bison, and 0-3 in the Conference of New England.
Today's match saw the debut of dual-sport athlete
Cassie Rice, a sophomore at Nichols and also a member of the women's soccer program.Â
For said doubles court lineup, Rice and
Erin Helly were set at the No. 3 position,
Kamora Helton and
Pamela Gonzalez Vallardi at the No. 1, and the duo of
Cora Brosch and
Charis Vogler for Court No. 2. A sweeping 6-0 performance carried out in the consecutive 1, 2, and 3 order marked the
first time since 7 seasons ago against Curry where we had zero points dropped in every doubles court in a game. With said feat, the Bison secured the doubles point.
Nichols carried the same momentum into singles, winning every match in straight sets. Gonzalez Vallardi opened her match blanking her opponent 6-0, 6-0, followed by Brosch with a duplicate performance of 6-0, 6-0. Helton kept the same pace sweeping 6-0, 6-0, with Vogler on the court adjacent winning 6-0, 6-0. The day ended with Rice sweeping 6-0, 6-0 and Helly sealing the win with her performance of 6-1, 6-1.Â
With their foot on the gas pedal the women's tennis team hopes to bring the same energy against conference opponent University of Saint Joseph tomorrow, September 30th at the Elizabeth Ferry Speer Tenis Complex at 3:00 PM.
