MIDDLEBURY, VT (9/26/25) - Two Nichols College women's tennis players were invited to the ITA New England Championships hosted by Middlebury College over the weekend. Kamora Helton and Pamela Gonzalez Vallardi competed in doubles draw and each saw action in the singles brackets as well. The Bison were pooled with nearly 20 regional colleges including top ranked national programs. 

Placed on seeded brackets, the duo of Helton and Gonzalez Vallardi was slated against Bates' Isabella Saul and Avni Bakre. In dominant fashion, the pairing beat out the match with a score of 8-2, but later on fell to Williams' doubles set 8-3. 

Individually, Helton competed against one of Middlebury's top ranked players Charlotte McCann and secured the win in a hard-fought performance that produced scores of 6-2, 1-6, 10-7. Gonzalez Vallardi also gained experience with her singles match against a Middlebury opponent.
 

Following Nichols' participation in the ITA tournament the Bison now have the ability to be recognized nationally with singles, doubles, and regional rankings making their way to the website later this year on November 12th.
