DUDLEY, Mass. (9/12/2025) – The Nichols women's soccer team dropped its first Conference of New England match of the season Friday afternoon, falling 4‑0 to Johnson & Wales University at the Nichols Soccer Field.
With the loss, the Bison's record moves to 1‑5‑0 (0‑1‑0 CNE) while the Wildcats improve to 2‑2‑1 (1‑0‑0 CNE).
The Wildcats opened the scoring early with Sophia Iovino picking up a loose ball on the outside of the box in the 11th minute and firing a shot in the back of the net. That was the senior's first goal of the season.
The Wildcats doubled their lead just before halftime when Chloe Casavant got on the end of a through ball from Marisa Krosky, who slotted the ball in the bottom right corner. Casavant's goal was scored in the 44th minute. Nichols headed into the break trailing 2‑0.
In the second half, JWU found more success in the 70th minute when Ella Sokale sent in a cross to Kyla Leahy who poked it past Dupret for the Wildcats' third goal of the day. Just minutes later, Emma Potter would grab a goal of her own to make it 4‑0. That goal was set up by a great cross from Emily See. Nichols had some clear scoring opportunities but would not capitalize on them. The game ended 4-0.
Isabella Dupret had 13 saves, including a highlight save in the 78th minute.
Alyssa Senecal played all 90 minutes of the match, putting in clutch last person tackles to put the Wildcats out on multiple occasions
The Bison return back to action on Tuesday, when they take on Rivier University at home in a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 PM.
