Countdown to Kickoff – Football 2025 Season Preview

DUDLEY, Mass. (8/19/2025) – The Nichols College football program will be looking to make their presence known in the 2025 regular season as they continue to build under second-year head coach Vinny Marino.

The Bison open their new season on the road at MIT on Saturday, September 6th, with kick off set for 12:00 PM at Harry G. Steinbrenner '27 Stadium in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Nichols then returns home to Vendetti Field for their 2025 Home Opener, which will start at 1:00 PM against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

The Bison, who went 3-7 in the 2024 season, will have an eager and optimistic squad leading them into the new campaign, which includes a 28-man recruiting class. The existing core of returning players combined with the new faces and talent will lead to an exciting season for the Bison, as they bring a new sense of optimism to the field.

"I'm excited for the 2025 Nichols College Bison Football season," said coach Marino. "Our players have worked hard this summer, and it is carrying over to preseason camp. We will be a young team with a good mix of upperclassmen who have played and have a good amount of experience. I am looking forward to the team we put on the field September 6th."

The Hill will see a number of notable returners on the gridiron this fall, including sophomore quarterback Will Migliaccio. Last season, Migliaccio threw for 1,255 yards and 12 total touchdowns through eight games played, completing 90-of-143 (62.9%) passes. Joining him on the offensive front is graduate student wide receiver Jack Morvan, who led the conference in 2024 with 967 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, including a team-best 82-yard-long reception and a 107.44 yards per game average.

Morvan's efforts also landed him All-CNE First Team honors in 2024, along with 2024 New England Football Writers Association All-New England Team accolades.

On the defensive side of the ball, sophomore defensive back Braydon Aylward highlights the list of returning student athletes after finishing 2024 with 36 total tackles, which included 15 solo tackles through nine games played. Fellow sophomore kicker/punter Nick Foynes leads the special teams front, after going 4-of-7 in field goals.

Coach Marino and the Bison will also have a handful of new names on their staff for 2025:
Assistant Coach & Senior Offensive Assistant (Offensive Line/Tight Ends) – Frank Leonard
Defensive Coordinator (Linebackers) – Tony Brinson
Assistant Football Coach (Offensive Line / Run Game Coordinator) – Andrew Nee '25
Assistant Football Coach (Tight Ends) – Robert Grammer
Defensive Graduate Assistant (Defensive Line) – Selien Dorvilus
