POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (4/5/2025) – Nichols College men's tennis, on the road for a non-conference match, fell to host Vassar College, 7-0 on Saturday afternoon inside the Walker Field House.
The Bison slide to 4-10 (3-0 CNE) with the loss, while the Brewers improve to 6-7 (3-0 Liberty).
Vassar opened the match with wins in all three doubles matchups to secure the point, winning by scores of 6-3, 6-3 and 6-1.
In singles, the Bison were unable to swing the momentum as Vassar won all six matches in straight sets, completing the 7-0 win. However, Nichols nearly rallied in the second set of the top two positions, as
Richard Hartmann Luzio pushed his opponent to a 7-5 tiebreak. At No. 2 singles,
Leon Zeis was also competitive against his rival, losing by a narrow 6-4 margin.
Nichols returns to conference play on Tuesday, April 8
th with a road match at Wentworth Institute of Technology (5-7, 3-0 CNE). Official start time will be announced at a later time.
