BRUNSWICK, Maine (4/19/2025) - The Nichols College women's tennis team fell to host No. 7 Bowdoin College on Saturday evening, 7-0, in the program's final match of the 2025 spring season.
The Bison wrap up the spring with an 11-9 (6-0 CNE) overall record, while the ranked Polar Bears improve to 12-4 (6-2 NESCAC) on the season.
Despite Bowdoin taking the doubles point, the Bison did see a win over at the No. 3 flight of
Cora Brosch and
Charis Vogler, with the tandem defeating their opponent handedly, 6-1.
In singles play, the Polar Bears continued with wins straight across all six positions. There were several fierce battles for the Bison however, as freshman
Kamora Helton narrowly lost in her opening set 6-4 before falling in set two, 6-0. Senior
Antonia Carrero also put up a fight at the No. 2 position, losing by matching 6-2 scores in each set.
The most notable singles battle found its way to No. 6 singles, where sophomore
Cora Brosch closed the day with a tightly contested match against her Bowdoin opponent, forcing a third-set tiebreak before falling 6-7, 6-4 and 8-10.
The Bison, who claimed the 2025 CNE Championship title this past fall, will receive an automatic bid into the upcoming NCAA Tournament, with their First Round opponent and destination yet to be determined.
