NEW LONDON, Conn. (4/17/2025) – With the spring portion of their 2024-25 season winding down, the Nichols College women's tennis team fell short against host Connecticut College on Thursday afternoon, losing by a score of 5-2 at the CC Tennis Center.
The Bison drop to 11-8 (6-0 CNE) with the loss, while the Camels fall to 6-9 (1-6 NESCAC).
The Bison were unable to score the doubles point to open the afternoon, but saw one victory out of the three matchups at the No. 2 flight of seniors
Antonia Carrero and
Johanna Schroeder, who bested their opponents 6-3.
Carrero was also successful at No. 2 singles, earning a three-set victory by scores of 7-5, 2-6 and 6-3, putting Nichols on the board. The Bison would only come away victorious on one other court, courtesy of a straight-set, 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles by junior
Charis Vogler. The Camels took the wins at all remaining positions, cementing the 5-2 win.
The Bison have just one more match remaining in the 2024-25 regular season, which will be hosted by Bowdoin College (10-4, 5-2 NESCAC) on Saturday April, 19
th at 4:00 PM.
