HARTFORD, Conn. (4/15/2025) – The Nichols College Baseball team dropped a Tuesday afternoon non-conference game against Trinity College from Murren Family Field at DiBenedetto Stadium. The Bison lost 7-3 in the game after managing just five hits.
The Bantams opened the scoring in second inning with a two-run home run and took a 2-0 lead. Trinity added another run in the third inning. Nichols cut the lead to two, with a double to center field from senior
Taj Vera Cruz, scoring freshman
Collin Harty.
Trinity scored runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh inning, taking a 7-2 lead after senior
Karl Miller scored on a wild pitch. In the eighth inning, junior
Liam Flynn homered to right center field, adding one more run for the Bison in the loss.
Freshman
Dalton Holbrook (1-1) shouldered the loss for the Bison, throwing 3.2 innings, striking out one batter and allowing three runs. Senior
Andrew Steinhubel threw 0.2 innings, and senior
John Steed also saw 1.2 innings. Sophomore's
Mitch Brown and
Johnathon Brzezicki also threw 1.0 innings.
Nichols (14-12, 4-4 CNE) returns home to face off against Springfield College from the Nichols College Baseball Field. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
