MILTON, Mass. (4/12/2025) – The Nichols College men's lacrosse team fell behind in the second half against conference host Curry College Saturday, resulting in a 9-4 loss to the Colonels at Katz Field.
With the loss, the Bison fall to 3-12 (1-5 CNE), while the Colonels improve to 2-12 (2-3 CNE) with the win.
Junior
John Caserta joined sophomore
Shea Ullo as they Bison leaders in the loss, with each notching two points apiece. Caserta also led the team with three caused turnovers in the game, as did junior
Jonah Libby, while
Travis Arnold scooped six ground balls while going 12-of-15 from the faceoff.
Senior goalkeeper
Brady Morgan (3-12) took the loss in the cage, making 10 saves.
Curry was the lone team to score in the first quarter, which they did twice in a two-minute span. However, the Bison countered with their own pair of goals in the second quarter, which were split evenly between senior
Jack Ellis and Ullo, with Ellis' goal coming a man-up. As a result, the two sides went into the second half tied at 2-2.
Curry pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Bison 4-0 in the frame. The Colonels returned early in the fourth with a man-up goal at 14:04, making it a 7-2 game. Ullo responded with his second of the afternoon, unassisted, only for Curry to tack on two more to lead 9-3. Caserta rounded out the scoring with 5:47 left to play, off an assist from
Conor Doherty.
Men's Lacrosse faces Roger Williams University (6-7, 2-2 CNE) in their home finale on Tuesday, April 15
th. The game, which is the men's program's LaCROSSe Out Cancer game, is set for a 4:00 PM start at Vendetti Field.
