Flynn Homers as Bison Walk-off Rams, 7-6

DUDLEY, Mass. (3/25/2025) – Senior Liam Flynn hit his fourth home run of the season, as the Nichols College Baseball team won in the bottom of the 10th inning. The Bison walked-off Framingham State University, 7-6 from the Nichols Baseball Field on Tuesday afternoon.

Flynn was the extra innings hero for the Bison. He finished the game batting 2-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored. Senior Karl Miller led the team with three RBI and three stolen bases. Junior Julian Galvan went 4-6 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Nichols jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening frame. Senior Ben Jerome drew a walk and then stole second base. Galvan then doubled to center field and scored Jerome. Miller doubled the Bison lead with a single through the left side, scoring Galvan.

The Bison extended their lead in the third inning Galvan once again delivered for the Bison, with his second double of the game. Flynn walked and then both runners stole bases to put two runners in scoring position. Miller singled to left field, scoring Flynn and Galvan, and led 4-0.

Framingham State added one run in the fourth inning, cutting into the lead. The bottom half of the fourth, saw Nichols regain their four run lead. Back-to-back singles, and then a double from Flynn, scored Jerome, making it 5-1 Nichols.

The Rams tallied a pair of runs in the fifth, while the Bison also added a run, making it 6-3 Nichols after five innings. The eighth inning, saw Framingham State score one run off single through the right side. The tides continued to shift, with the Rams scoring two runs in the top of the ninth and evening the score at 6-6.

In the bottom of the ninth, Nichols loaded the bases with two outs. Framingham State worked their way out of the jam and this game was headed for extra innings. In the 10th inning, senior Patrick Doyle faced four batters, and no runs allowed as Nichols got out of the jam.

In the bottom of the 10th, with one out Flynn batted. He launched a home run to right field, as the catcher, helped the Bison walk-off against the Rams by a final of 7-6.

Doyle (1-0) earned his first win of the season, after throwing 1.0 innings and allowing one hit. The Bison saw eight total pitchers see the mound. Freshman Tim Hudson earned the start, throwing 3.0 innings, allowing one run on three hits and one strikeout.

Nichols (6-6,0-2 CNE) will hit the road and travel to NESCAC opponent Wesleyan on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is set for 4:00 p.m. from Dresser Diamond.
