Bison Shoulder 17-2 Loss at Connecticut College

NEW LONDON, Conn. (3/17/2025) – The Nichols College men's lacrosse team lost a 17-2 non-conference decision to host Connecticut College on Monday evening at Silfen Field.

The Bison drop to 1-6 on the season, while the Camels improve to 3-2 overall.

John Caserta and Shea Ullo were the goal scorers for the Bison, with Caserta also chipping in one ground ball, one caused turnover and four shots on goal. Travis Arnold, Jared Van Cor and Jackson Hernandez each notched six ground balls apiece, while Arnold also went 14-of-21 () from the faceoff.

Starting goalkeeper Brady Morgan (1-6) made 18 saves in the effort.

Connecticut College led from start to finish in the contest, opening up a 5-0 lead through the game's first quarter. The scoring run continued for the Camels in the second stanza, as they tacked on another three goals to increase their lead to 8-0 by the intermission, outshooting the Bison by a 26-9 margin in the half.

Matters only got worse for Nichols in the third quarter, as the Camels fired home five more goals to bring their lead to 13-0 entering the final frame. The Bison then found themselves trailing 16-0 in the fourth before Ullo spoiled Connecticut College's shutout bid with his first goal of the season, unassisted, at the 5:47 mark of the period. Caserta followed it up with his own unassisted strike just over three minutes later to make it 16-2 Camels, before the hosts wrapped it up with their final goal of the contest at 2:03.

The Bison continue non-conference action on Wednesday, March 19th against Emmanuel College (1-5, 1-0 GNAC) at Roberto Clemente Field.
