NEWPORT, R.I. (2/3/2025) - The Nichols College women's tennis team opened the spring portion of its schedule with a 6-0 setback against of the University of Rhode Island on Sunday afternoon at the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
With the loss, the Bison shift to 11-4 overall, while URI improves to 4-0 with the win.
The Rams opened the match by sweeping all three doubles matches as the Bison were held to just one game won over the three positions, giving URI the 1-0 advantage.
URI went on to complete the shutout with a sweep of all singles competition. However, sophomore
Cora Brosch highlighted the day for the Bison as she claimed the most points in her respective match, battling to matching 6-3 scores at the No. 6 position. Junior
Charis Vogler also battled to a close 6-4 loss in the opening set of No. 5 singles, but the matchup would be left unfinished in the second set.
The Bison are back in action on Wednesday, February 12
th with a road match at Smith College (0-1). Official match start will be announced at a later time.
