Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Leopards Clip Men's Hockey, 4-3

HARRISVILLE, R.I. (2/15/2025) – The Nichols College men's hockey team dropped a Conference of New England (CNE) match-up to the Wentworth Institute of Technology Leopards on Saturday afternoon from Levy Rink. The Leopards scored twice in the third period to win the game, 4-3.

Sophomore Tristan Kimmen, junior Aaron Hamel senior Nathan Carl all scored goals for the Bison. Carl and Hamel also added assists too.

Sophomore Aidan Flynn, CJ Zezima, graduate student Joey Allegrini, and freshman Ryan Austin all found themselves on the stat sheet with assists of their own.

The Bison opened the scoring when a puck found Kimmen, who fired a shot five-hole and beat the Leopards goalie for a 1-0 lead. The Bison doubled up their lead just under two minutes later, thanks to Hamel. Nichols led 2-1 after 11:50 remaining.

Wentworth did not go away and answered back with their own goal after a scrum in front of the net and the puck found itself in the back of the net. The Bison took the 2-1 lead into the dressing room, after 20 minutes.

In the second period, Nichols extended their lead back to 3-1 after Carl scored in on the power play. Pin-point passing from the unit, found Carl with a wide-open net and the senior didn't miss, burying the shot for a 3-1 Nichols lead.

As time expired in the second period, a penalty shot was awarded to Wentworth. The Leopard skater made a great move, beating freshman Liam Choquette to cut back into the Nichols lead.

Wentworth scored a pair of goals in the third period to grab the lead, 4-3. Nichols pulled the goalie late looking for the equalizer but could not score to even it up and the Bison lost 4-3.

The Bison outshot the Leopards 38-18 while going 1-4 on the power play and perfect 3-3 on the penalty kill. Nichols dominated the face-off circle, winning 43-63 (68.3%).

Nichols will face off against Suffolk University on Friday night from Levy Rink, with puck set for 5:40 p.m. in the final game of the regular season for both teams.
