PREVIEW: Men's Ice Hockey Set to Host 8th Boston Landing Collegiate Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. (12/29/2025) - Nichols College men's ice hockey is set to host the 8th installment of the Boston Landing Collegiate Invitational at Warrior Ice Arena over the first weekend of January on the 3rd and 4th. 

The tournament slate includes three other programs: SUNY Potsdam, Southern New Hampshire University, and Connecticut College. SNHU returns to the Invitational after it's stint in 2023-24; Connecticut College makes their second appearance as well, last competing in 2018. SUNY Potsdam is the fresh new face in the Invitational and the first opponent for the Bison on Saturday, January 3rd at 4:40 PM.

Entering the invitational, the ice will feature a tightly contested mix of records. Nichols College comes in at 4-6-0 overall with a 3-4-0 record in the CNE, while SUNY Potsdam sits at an even 5-5-0 overall and 2-3-0 for their respective conference, the SUNYAC. Connecticut College carries a 4-3-1 overall record alongside a 2-3-1 record for the NESCAC, and SNHU rounds out the group at 4-6-1 overall with a 2-5-1 mark against NE10 opponents.

Entering the tournament, each team is fueled by key contributors across the stat columns. Nichols College is paced by CJ Zezima with four goals and nine points, Dylan Ray's seven assists, and Ryan Henry's .925 save percentage. SUNY Potsdam features Ryan Mahlmeister as the top scorer on the year with eight goals and 11 points, backed by Mathieu Parent's seven assists and Luciano Chinappi's .928 save percentage. Connecticut College leans on Will Lawrence's seven points and four goals, Quinn Kennedy's five assists, and Will McEvoy's .915 save percentage, while SNHU brings balanced scoring from Ryan Pomposelli and Kurt Watson and their 4 goals, strong playmaking from Brendan Lynch and Ryan Kayser's 4 assists, and a .930 save percentage from Sean Guerin.
