Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Women's Ice Hockey Drops Close Contest Against Suffolk, 4-3

BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (11/15/2025) - Nichols College women's ice hockey hosted Suffolk University for the second contest in a pair of back-to-back battles. After a tough fight at Levy Rink, the Bison notched a loss at the hands of the visiting Rams.

With the loss for the Bison, their record falls to 2-4-0 with a 0-4-0 record for games against conference opponents. The Rams' record improves to 2-1-1 on the season, with a 2-1-1 record for Conference of New England games.

Early on at 4:37 in the first period, sophomore Angalisa Caceda knocked in her second goal of the season after a scramble for the puck against the rink boards, unassisted and putting the Bison up 1-0 early. Suffolk was able to equalize in the same period on a power play. Notably, Nichols was able to out-shoot the Rams 17-6, sustaining pressure until the horn.

In similar fashion, Nichols took back their lead with a quick goal at 1:23 in the second period. Capitalizing on a power play, Cela MacDougall earned her first goal of the season following a well-placed puck from Sienna Reeves and Keira Goffe. Kaylyn Bourque marked the fourth goal of her freshman campaign at 10:43 off an unassisted shot, putting the Bison up 3-1 with two scores unanswered. To equalize ending the second period, Suffolk put up consecutive goals at 16:38 and 18:02. Once again, the Bison outshot the Rams 24-12.

The third period saw a game-winning goal from Suffolk at 6:48, with the Bison searching for an equalizer late in the period. Nichols seemingly scored a game-tying goal with little time remaining, but it was ultimately overturned by a penalty. The match concluded with the final score in favor of Suffolk, 4-3.

The women's ice hockey team will return to the ice in conference play at Endicott College. The match will be played at Raymond J. Bourque Arena on November 21st, with puck hitting the ice at 6:00 PM.
