PAWTUCKET, R.I. (11/15/2025) – A dramatic overtime finish from Jeremy Tremblay lifted the Nichols College men's ice hockey team to a 4–3 win over Johnson & Wales University on Saturday afternoon, keeping the Bison perfect in CNE play.
Nichols improves to 4-2-0 (3-0-0 CNE) with the win, while JWU drops to 2-2-1 (0-2-0 CNE).
JWU opened the scoring at 5:38 of the first period with a power-play goal from Joseph Sciabarra, but the Bison responded quickly. At 10:03, CJ Zezima tied the game on a setup from Tristan Kimmen and reigning CNE Rookie of the Week Nick Brennan. Nichols then took its first lead at 18:12 when Kimmen ripped home a power-play goal off assists from Gavin Duckworth and Jacob Ammar, sending the Bison into the intermission up 2-1.
The Wildcats evened the score early in the second on a goal from Brad Guden, who Harout Torosian and Chris Alexander assisted. Nichols battled back to regain the lead at 18:16 when Rocco Bianculli finished a feed from Zezima for his first goal of the season. Zezima ended the day with two points.
In the third period, JWU capitalized on a power play as Zachary Brady scored at 16:21 to make it 3-3. Despite having 13 shots on goal, the Bison could not find the winner, and the Wildcats forced overtime.
At 3:18 of OT, Tremblay collected a pass from Alexis Trudeau and Dylan Ray and fired home the puck for the sudden-death game-winner, his second goal of the weekend. Final score: 4-3 win for Nichols in overtime.
The Bison found success through four unique goal scorers and seven unique assist givers.
Choquette earned the win with 16 saves, while Nichols outshot Rivier 35-19 and went 1-for-6 on the power play. The Bison also won 42 of 68 faceoffs, with Aaron Hamel winning 15 and Zezima winning 12 on the night.
The men's ice hockey team returns to action next weekend for their fourth Conference of New England game of the season. The Bison faces off against Curry College at the Levy Rink for a 4:40 PM start time.
