Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Linacre Honored as Women's Soccer Falls to Curry College

DUDLEY, Mass. (10/4/2025) - Nichols College Women's Soccer came up short against conference opponent Curry College on Wednesday at Nichols Soccer Field, 4-1.

Prior to today's match, the Nichols College Division of Athletics and Women's Soccer program honored the life and legacy of Hallie Linacre, a member of the class of 2021 who passed away unexpectedly in 2020. A cornerstone of the Nichols Women's Soccer program, Linacre embodied what it meant to be a true student-athlete. Her spirit continues to live on in her teammates, her coaches, and the Bison community, and she will always be remembered as a Bison forever.

Following today's match, the Bison fall to 1-10-1 (0-4 CNE) on the season, while the Colonels move to 4-5-2 (1-2-1 CNE).

Nichols saw some good shots on goal in the first half, highlighted by plays from Alyssa SenecalMegan TuckerAbigail Graham that ultimately came up short but kept the Bison moving. In the seventh minute, Curry opened up the scoring with a goal from Mia Schena, assisted by Catia Fernandes and Nicole Hudson. The second goal of the match for the Colonels came in the 15th minute when Catia Fernandes scored off a pass from Mia Schena.

In the second half, Fernandes scored a goal assisted by Adelina Young in the 48th minute, and went on to assist a goal by Nicole Hudson in the 50th minute. From a foul she drew inside the box in the 58th minute, Haley Bethin buried a penalty kick goal to put the Bison in the scoring equation. The last 30 minutes of the match were a defensive battle that ended in a final score of 4-1 in favor of the Colonels.

Bethin's goal marks her second of the season, and Hannah Deschene's nine saves matches her season high for most.

Nichols' next match will be on the road, featuring more conference play against Gordon College on Wednesday, October 8th, at Brigham Athletic Complex. Kickoff is set for 4 PM.
