HARTFORD, Conn. (10/22/2025) – The Nichols College women's soccer team traveled to the University of Hartford for conference play this Wednesday afternoon. Unable to best the Hawks, Nichols lost by the final score of 7-0.
With the result, Nichols drops to 1-14-1 (0-8 CNE), while Hartford improves to 10-3-2 (5-3 CNE).
For the first half, Sophia Coer and Rebecca Opdenbrouw both contributed to the scoring effort for the Hawks, marking goals at the 11th and 12
th minutes. Despite the early goals, the Bison held their ground defensively, with production from
Alyssa Senecal and
Caroline Shields, who both got shots off in the 38
th minute.
In the second period, the Hawks took off offensively, opening with a goal from Cameryn Wilkinson in the 56th minute. Two goals from Anastasia Nerney and one from Rebecca Opdenbrouw in a 2 minute window would make the score 6-0. To end the scoring for the day, the Bison conceded a penalty kick goal scored by Tara Martin in the 76th minute.

The women's soccer team looks to bounce back against Roger Williams University in their senior day match at Nichols Soccer Field. The match date is set for October 25
th, with a start time of 3 PM.
