BOSTON, Mass. (10/11/2025) – The Nichols College Women's Soccer team dropped a 3-1 road decision to Wentworth Institute of Technology at Sweeney Field.
Nichols drops to 1-12-1 (0-6 CNE) on the season, while Wentworth improves to 6-3-5 (1-3-1 CNE).
Wentworth struck first in the 12th minute when Brooke Finlay buried a rebound off a Lina Arlander pass, sending the ball into the bottom left corner.
Just five minutes later, Lily Carlson converted a through ball down the line, again assisted by Finlay, to give the hosts a 2-0 advantage. The score remained 2-0 going into halftime.
In the second half, Wentworth extended the lead to 3-0 at the 50th minute when Carlson scored again, this time assisted by Arlander off a cross from the right.
Nichols answered in the 63rd minute as sophomore
Cassie Rice connected on a direct free kick, finding the upper right-center goal to make it 3-1. This was Rice's second goal of the season and was the final goal of the match.
The Bison split time in net today, with freshman
Isabella Dupret starting the first 45 minutes and junior
Hannah Deschene finishing the last 45 minutes of the game. Dupret finished the game with nine saves on eleven shots on goal faced, and Deschene made four saves on the five shots on goal faced.
The Bison return home on Saturday, October 11th, at 3 PM for a face off against Endicott College
