DUDLEY, Mass. (9/21/24)- In their Conference of New England opening match, the Nichols College Bison played host to the visiting University of New England Nor'easters. The Nor'easters took the game by a final score of 2 to 1.

With the loss, the Bison move to 3-4 (0-1 CNE) on the year, and the Nor'easters move to 2-3-2.

The first half was chippy, but both sides were held scoreless in the tight battle. Four total yellow cards were handed out, and Nichols starting keeper
Franco Barreto Santana made 3 saves in the opening frame.

In second-half action, it was the University of New England that opened the scoring in the 49th minute. The Bison's equalizer would come off the foot of freshman
Aysaiah Chavez, who scored his first career goal off a feed from classmate
Josiah Phillips.

The Nor'easters go-ahead goal came in the 58
th minute, which served as the game winner.

The Bison's next test will be on the road as they make the trip to Providence, RI for a tilt with the Anchormen of Rhode Island College. That match is set to kick off on 7pm on Wednesday, September 25
th.
