DUDLEY, Mass. (9/14/2024)- It was a closely contested home game for the Bison as they hosted the Clark Cougars on Saturday afternoon in Dudley. The match began with both teams showing solid defensive play and equal possession, making it hard for either side to break through. However, in the 42nd minute, the Cougars found an opening and scored the first goal, giving them a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
Despite being down, the Bison continued their possession control in the second half. They launched a relentless offensive effort and were rewarded in the 70th minute when Juanesteban Hincapie scored his first goal of the season, leveling the score at 1-1. This goal ignited a surge of energy from Nichols, instilling hope of a positive outcome.
Despite the late control regained by the Cougars, the Bison never gave up. Clark scored two crucial goals in the final stages, one in the 80th minute and another in the 86th, to pull away from the Bison. Nichols fought valiantly to respond, but their efforts were not enough to prevent the defeat.
With the 3-1 loss, Nichols now holds a record of 2-3-0 (0-0 CNE), while Clark improves to 2-2-2. The Bison will aim to bounce back quickly as they prepare for their next home game on Thursday against Lasell University. That match will serve as their staff and faculty game and is set to kickoff at 4pm.
