DUDLEY, Mass. (9/14/2024) – The Nichols College field hockey team fell at home against Mount Holyoke College on Saturday afternoon from Vendetti Field. The Bison lost 4-0 to the Lyons.

Senior Sophia Venable made three saves in the loss for the Bison.

The Lyons opened the scoring with 51 second remaining in the first quarter to take a 1-0 lead after 15 minutes of play. Two more second quarter goals, saw the Bison down 3-0, at the half. Mount Holyoke added one more goal in the third quarter.

Nichols found themselves with arguably their best chance of the night, with a penalty corner that's aw a shot from junior Merle Steinau and classmate Taylor Breen tried to slip it past the keeper with no luck.

Nichol returns to action on Tuesday, September 17, as they travel to Eastern Connecticut State for a non-conference match up. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
