WINDHAM, Conn. (9/17/2024) – The Nichols College field hockey team dropped a Wednesday afternoon non-conference match-up against Eastern Connecticut State University. Nichols lost 1-0 at the hands of the Warriors.

Senior Sophia Venable was excellent in net for the Bison, making nine saves including stopping a penalty stroke, to keep it 1-0. Sophomore Sofia Calabro led the team with four shots on goal in the loss.

The game was scoreless for nearly 54 minutes before the home team scored the eventual game winner and the only goal of the game at the 53:45 mark on the fourth quarter. Nichols was outshot 10-7 in the loss.

Nichols will return home on Friday night, as they face off against Conference of New England (CNE) foe Western New England on the Nichols Homecoming Weekend. Start time is set for 7:00 p.m. from Vendetti field under the light.
