Dudley, Mass. (4/7/2024) – The Nichols College women's tennis team took on the Emerson College Lions in a Sunday afternoon non-conference match at the Robinson Tennis Courts in Dudley. The Bison edged out the Lions 5-4.
The Bison now sit at 10-6 on the year, while Emerson falls to 2-11. The game marked the 8
th meeting between the two programs, the Bison have never fallen to the Lions, and hold the all-time record 8-0.

Charis Vogler got off to a quick start at the number two position, blanking their Lion's opponents 8-0 in a fast game. The Bison number one pairing of juniors

Johanna Schroeder pushed the home team's lead to two with a 8-5 win at number one doubles. The Bison then fell 8-4 at the number three position but led 2-1 overall after doubles.
Singles action soon followed, and the first Bison to win was freshman
Erin Helly at number six. She won that match 6-1, 6-0. Sophomore
Charis Vogler soon followed at number three where she secured a 6-2, 6-1 win. Nichols then fell at number one singles before freshman
Cora Brosch won (7-5, 6-2) at number four to get the fifth Bison point to secure the win. Schroeder then forces a third and deciding set at number two before falling (2-6, 6-4, 6-0).
Women's tennis is back in their spring season action against Springfield College on Wednesday April 10
th. Game time for that match is TBD.
