Dudley, Mass. (4/7/2024) –  It was a battle between the visiting Endicott College Gulls and hometown Nichols College Bison on Sunday afternoon at the Robinson Tennis Courts in Dudley. The Bison took the critical Commonwealth Coast Conference win over the visiting Gulls 8-1.
 
In doubles play, the Bison came out running. At the number three position, the Bison duo of Trevor Schwarzmann and Enzo Matos Balleux dominated and earned the 8-1for the Bison. Richard Hartmann Zuzio and Caio Dieckmann soon followed suit at number two, where they secured the 8-4 win. This Bison went on to drop the number one matchup 5-8 but still held at 2-1 led over the Gulls after doubles.
 
Singles play continued to bring a strong fight between the Bison and Gulls. But once the flood started for the Bison, they never looked back. Within minutes of each other Richard Hartmann Zuzio started with a 6-4, 6-3 win a number three, before Oscar Junyent earned the 6-1, 6-4 victory at number six, and Trevor Schwarzmann finished the trio with a 6-2, 6-0 win at number three. Later, Enzo Matos Balleux took an even 6-2, 6-2 win at number four, joined by Leon Zeis with a 6-2, 6-3 win in the number one spot. Rounding out the day for the Bison was Caio Dieckmann who on a beautiful placed long ball, finished the dominate straight-set sweep for the Bison 6-2, 7-5.
 
The Bison are back in action on Tuesday April 9^th as they host the Gordon College Fighting Scots in a highly anticipated Commonwealth Coast Conference match. That match is set for a 4 PM start in Dudley.
