Dudley, Mass. (4/21/24) – The Nichols College Men's Tennis team secured a 2-0 weekend, and a perfect 7-0 CCC 2024 record as they edged the visiting Western New England University Golden Bears 9-0 in Dudley on Sunday afternoon.

The Bison got out to a quick 3-0 in doubles competition. The Bison lineup looked similar to yesterday, the number one pairing of Leon Zeis & Kerem Subasi getting an 8-3 win, number two Caio Dieckmann & Richard Hartmann Zuzio edging out their opponents 8-4, and the three pair of Trevor Schwarzmann & Enzo Matos Balleux with their second 8-0 win in as many days to round out doubles play.

The Bison continued to enjoy success in singles play. Senior day honoree Trevor Schwarzmann was the first Bison to finish in a 6-0, 6-0 win at number two, followed closely behind by Kerem Subasi with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking at number five. Then senior Caio Dieckmann got his senior night singles to win 6-1, 6-0 at number six. The last three Bison to finish were Enzo Matos Balleux at 4 (6-1, 6-3), Richard Hartmann Zuzio at 3 (7-6, 6-3), and in a finale thriller Leon Zeis at one 7-6(7-3), 6-0.

The Bison have secured the top seed and the regular season CCC championship, so they now enjoy a bye through quarterfinal action. They will await the results of those matchups before hosting the semifinal match on Wednesday, May 1st in Dudley.
