CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (3/9/24) – The Nichols College men's tennis program fell to the No. 21 Massachusetts Institute of Technology Engineers on Saturday afternoon in Cambridge. The Bison dropped the match by a 9-0 margin.
With the loss, Nichols falls to 2-6 on the season, while MIT jumps to 4-2.
Trevor Schwarzmann and
Leon Zeis led off in doubles play for the Bison in the number one doubles position, falling by a 8-2 defeat. In the other doubles matchups, the Bison fell by identical 8-1 margins.
In singles play
Enzo Matos Balleux forced a tiebreak at number four singles, eventually falling 2-6, 6-7 (0-3).
Trevor Schwarzmann stood in the number one position, and fell in some tightly contest games, falling 3-6, 4-6.
The Bison are back in action next Sunday March 17
th as they head to Bates College in Lewiston, Maine for a matchup with the Bobcats. That match is set for 12 PM.
